Both FOCCUS and 'The Friends at Canterbury Cathedral' organize events throughout the year to build up a strong Friends community and to share with each other their love for their Mother Church.
Pilgrimage Pathways: A Personal Experience of CANTERBURY
October 13-22, 2012
The Friends of Canterbury Cathedral in the United States is pleased to once again offer the opportunity to participate in the life of the cathedral. Under the leadership of the Reverend Matthew Corkern who has led eleven previous pilgrimages to Canterbury, this ten-day journey focuses on historical and religious aspects of Canterbury and her role at the center of the Anglican Communion.
Our journey begins with three days in London to establish our pilgrim community together. With private tours at Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Lambeth Palace, the National Portrait Gallery, and Parliament, we shall discover the ethos of the English people culturally, socially and spiritually. Moving along Chaucer’s famed path, we visit the cathedrals of Southwark and Rochester. And then of course, we will visit a number of museums and country-homes that help illustrate this story. This trip is planned to give you ample time to pray, play, learn about another fascinating culture with its religious underpinnings, and meet new friends in Faith.
